To add MaidPop to GoHighLevel, paste your one-line snippet into the Head tracking code box in the website's or funnel's Settings. On Wix, paste it under Settings > Custom Code, set it to All pages and Head, and click Apply. You don't have to remove the GoHighLevel chat widget. Both can run on the same site.
We wrote this one because of a real install.
A cleaning company on GoHighLevel took MaidPop off their site to make room for the GoHighLevel chat widget, then wrote back asking how to put MaidPop back on. Around the same time a Wix owner got partway through the install and stopped. Both problems come down to the same thing: knowing which box the code goes in, and knowing that box can hold more than one thing.
If you want the general version for any website builder, how to add a popup to your cleaning business website covers it. This page is only GoHighLevel and Wix.
What does the MaidPop snippet look like?
It's one script tag. You copy it from your MaidPop dashboard after you pick a template. Yours has your own ID in it:
<script src="https://maidpop.io/widget/v1/mp.js" data-id="YOUR-ID" data-api="..." async defer></script>
Don't retype it. Use the Copy button so the ID comes through exactly.
The dashboard asks for it in the header, before the closing </head> tag, on all pages. The script loads async, so it doesn't hold up your page. The whole setup takes under 60 seconds once you know where the box is.
Where do I paste MaidPop in GoHighLevel?
In GoHighLevel, site-wide code lives in each website's or funnel's Settings, in the Head tracking code field. That's the spot for MaidPop.
- Go to Sites.
- Open Websites or Funnels, depending on which one your cleaning site is built in.
- Open the website or funnel.
- Open its Settings.
- Find Head tracking code.
- Paste the MaidPop snippet. If other code is already in the box, put MaidPop on its own line below it. Don't delete what's there.
- Save.
- Open your published site and wait about 10 seconds.
One catch. Site-wide in GoHighLevel means every page of that one website or funnel, not your whole account. If your homepage is a website and your quote page is a separate funnel, paste the snippet into each one's Settings.
Can I put it on just one page in GoHighLevel?
Yes. Open the page in the builder, click the Tracking Code (code) icon, and paste the snippet into Header Tracking. Save, then preview the page.
Pick one place or the other, not both. GoHighLevel warns that the same script at the page level and the site level can fire twice. MaidPop ignores a second copy of itself on the same page, but you'll have a cleaner setup with one.
Also, keep each script tag whole. GoHighLevel's builder doesn't accept a script tag nested inside another one. If you paste MaidPop into a box that already has code, put it after the other script's closing tag, not inside it.
Do I have to remove the GoHighLevel chat widget to use MaidPop?
No.
The GoHighLevel chat widget and MaidPop are two separate scripts doing two separate jobs. You set up the chat widget under Sites > Chat Widget, and GoHighLevel gives you its own install options for it. MaidPop sits in your tracking code. Having one doesn't turn the other off. If you already pulled MaidPop to make room for chat, put the snippet back in Head tracking code and leave the chat widget alone.
Will MaidPop and the GoHighLevel chat widget clash?
Mostly they stay out of each other's way. They live in different parts of the screen and show up at different moments.
The GoHighLevel chat widget, when you set Widget Placement to Sticky, stays fixed in a page corner, like the bottom-right or bottom-left. Visitors click the launcher to open it. If you turn on Load on user interaction, GoHighLevel waits for a scroll, click, or tap, or loads it after about 8 seconds if nobody touches the page. Then it stays put, waiting for someone who wants to type.
MaidPop is a popup in the center of the screen, not a corner bubble. About 10 seconds after the page loads, it dims the page behind it and opens a short card with one field: an email address, or a phone number on The Text Option. It asks the browser for the highest layer a page allows, so while it's open it sits over the rest of the page, chat bubble included.
The visitor fills it in or closes it with the X, the "no thanks" link, a click outside the card, or the Escape key. Then the page and the chat bubble are back, and MaidPop stays closed for the rest of that browsing session.
So the visitor sees one thing at a time.
MaidPop asks once, early. The chat stays in the corner for whoever wants to talk.
What about the trust badge bar?
This is the one spot to check.
If you picked trust badges in MaidPop, it also shows a thin bar across the full width of the bottom of the screen, about 40 to 46 pixels tall. It hides while the popup is open and comes back after. A sticky chat bubble lives down there too. Depending on how GoHighLevel draws its launcher, the two can overlap.
After you install, open your site on your phone and on a laptop and look at the bottom corner. If the bubble looks cramped or partly covered, GoHighLevel's other placement is Embedded / Inline, which puts the chat inside your page content instead of floating in the corner.
Where do I paste MaidPop in Wix?
On Wix, MaidPop goes in Settings > Custom Code in your site's dashboard, not in the editor.
Before you start, your site has to be published and have a connected domain. Wix only connects a custom domain on a Premium plan, so on the free Wix plan this step won't work.
- Go to Settings in your site's dashboard.
- Click Custom Code in the Development & integrations section.
- Click + Add Custom Code at the top right.
- Paste the MaidPop snippet in the text box.
- Give it a name you'll recognize later, like MaidPop.
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages. Wix then asks whether to load the code once per visit or on each page your visitor opens. Either is fine. Once a visitor closes MaidPop or fills it in, it stays away for that browsing session.
- Under Place Code in, choose Head.
- Click Apply.
Then open your live site, not the editor, and wait about 10 seconds.
Two Wix things to know. Custom code doesn't run inside the editor, only on the published site, so don't judge it from the editor preview. And Wix ties these snippets to your domain. If you ever change the domain on your site, Wix deletes them, and you'll need to paste MaidPop in again.
Wix's help page says custom code snippets are "invisible to your site visitors." That's about the code itself. Wix's developer docs are clear that what the code adds to the page, like a popup, does show on the live site.
Why isn't MaidPop showing up after I pasted it?
Usually it's one of these:
- You didn't wait. It opens about 10 seconds after the page loads.
- You already closed it. Once you close it or fill it in, it stays away for that browsing session. Open a private window and try again.
- You're checking the editor. Wix only runs custom code on the published site. Check the live URL.
- You checked View Page Source on GoHighLevel. GoHighLevel adds tracking code in the browser, so it won't show in the page source. Load the page and wait instead.
- You pasted it in the wrong funnel. On GoHighLevel, each website and funnel has its own Settings.
- Something else on Wix is breaking it. Wix suggests turning your custom code snippets off one at a time to find the one causing the problem.
When it works, leads land in your inbox by email, plus a webhook if you set one up. MaidPop doesn't send texts or push alerts. If you want those leads in front of you faster, how to set up instant lead notifications for your cleaning business walks through it.
Which template should I start with?
Pick one and leave it running for a few weeks. The live ones are First-Clean Discount, The Guarantee, Comparison Stopper, The Text Option, and The Recurring Pitch.
If you're on GoHighLevel and your team already answers texts, The Text Option asks for a phone number:
Want a Quote by Text?
Drop your number below and Sparkle & Shine can text you back about your cleaning needs.

MaidPop is free forever with a small Powered by MaidPop line. Pro is $50 a year if you want the branding off. If you're still picking a tool, the best popup tools for cleaning businesses lays out the options.
Common questions about adding MaidPop to GoHighLevel and Wix
Where do I paste the MaidPop code in GoHighLevel?
Open the website or funnel in GoHighLevel, open its Settings, and paste the snippet into Head tracking code. Save. That runs it on every page of that one website or funnel. If you have a website and separate funnels, each one needs the snippet in its own settings.
Do I have to remove the GoHighLevel chat widget to use MaidPop?
No. They are two separate scripts and they can run on the same page. The chat widget sits in a corner. MaidPop opens in the middle of the screen about 10 seconds after the page loads and closes with one click. Once a visitor closes it, it stays away for the rest of that browsing session.
Where does the MaidPop code go in Wix?
In your site dashboard go to Settings, then Custom Code under Development & integrations. Click + Add Custom Code, paste the snippet, choose All pages, set Place Code in to Head, and click Apply. Your site has to be published with a connected domain.
Do I need a paid Wix plan to add MaidPop?
Yes, in practice. Wix only lets you add custom code to a site that's published and has a connected domain, and Wix says you need a Premium plan to connect a custom domain.
Why can't I see MaidPop after I installed it?
Give it about 10 seconds on the live site. If you already closed it or filled it in during that browser session, it won't show again, so test in a private window. On Wix, custom code doesn't run in the editor. On GoHighLevel, the code won't show in View Page Source because it is added in the browser.
Keep the chat. Put the popup back.
You don't have to choose. The chat widget waits in the corner for people who want to talk. MaidPop asks the quiet ones for a way to reach them before they leave.
If you haven't copied your snippet yet, get MaidPop free and paste it into the box for your platform.
